Love You T

Tyler has headed home (well to Grandpa's house).  Brent put him on a plane this morning on his way to Little Rock.  I think Brent and Tyler had so much fun hanging out, I know Madison, Bella and I did.  Although, let me just say that my house and mind set are not ready for a 14 year old boy- it kind of looks like a bomb went off.  I now understand why my house growing up with 5 kids was not always the neatest!  By the time I picked up one thing and came back it was messy again... I just gave up.   I can't wait to go home tonight from work and clean, pickup and do some laundry.  But in all seriousness we are so glad he stayed longer, because we never get to spend this much time together!

Love you T!  We had so much fun and hope you come back for a week next summer!

Having the Beach Blues

As a family of two every year we have headed off to the beach.  However with a new baby that can't wear sunscreen and since I used up all but one week of my vacation during my maternity leave we will not be making it to the sandy shores this summer and I am feeling the beach blues kick in.  Maybe we can make a weekend trip to the Texas shores (not really the same though).

Oh how I wish I was here...

Madison's First Swim

Sunday was Madison's first swim! She was so adorable in her little gap swimsuit! She loved every minute of it.  I figured she would as she LOVES bath time.  Now time to invest in her own beach towel and some swim floaties (with shade).

She is taking it all in.

Sucking on those fingers

Football in June

What a weekend we have had.  Brent's dad and nephew came into town this weekend for the All Star game.  Tyler was the official "ball boy" and had a blast.  It was 100 degrees and not a cloud to be found.  Madison and I were late to the game, and by half time the hubby escorted us up to the Press Box because it was too hot for the baby girl even with the handheld fans and umbrella. :( I should have known it was not a good idea, but once we were back in the AC all was good.

Grandpa and Madison in the Press Box
Although it was great to be watching football again, with all the practices and long nights I got a glimpse of what this Fall will be like- bathing Madison and our bed time ritual by myself as well as going back to dinners alone.  I'm used to being a football widow, but being a football single momma will be a little harder.  August can wait a little longer.

This is the real life of a coach's wife: dinners with the compie

Tyler has had so much fun he decided to stay a bit longer and is now flying back on Thursday!  We are so excited because we normally don't get to see him more than twice a year.  So the boys will have a great time hanging out this week- Six flags, Transformers III and swims in the pool are all in the plan.

New Obsession

I don't know where I have been but I just discovered the App Instagram and I LOVE it.  I don't even use the standard iPhone camera anymore.  Here is our week in Instagram photos.
We could sit like this for hours.

 It just makes me smile.

 Love those tootsies.

 Sleeping baby.

A new mobile for the crib.

3-6 month jammies from Aunt Lesie.

 My lovee.

After 2 weeks back at the office and a baby now waking up 3 times a night - a much needed treat.

Staying Cool

We have a big weekend planned- The Texas All Star Football Game.  Brent's coaching staff has been selected to coach the All Star Game! We are very excited and ready to go out and support the daddy.  He did however laugh when I asked him what color their team was so I could plan her outfit.  I mean really this is important to know!

The bigger issue- whoever decided to have the game at 2 pm in the Texas June heat is crazy!  Since Madison is only 15 weeks she is still to young for sunscreen meaning we are going to need a lot of stuff on Saturday to keep her out of the sun!
  • stroller
  • umbrella
  • hand held fan
  • misters
People in the stadium and security are not going to be happy with me- but hey you do what you have to do!  We can not miss this important game!

Maybe we can work our way into the press box... I am a coach's wife after all.

I Blame the Swing

I am always saying how spoiled we are with Madison's sleeping schedule.  Since the day we brought her home she would sleep through the night- it made waking up to feed her every 2 hours in those early weeks even harder.  She will let you know when she is ready for bed because like clockwork every night around 8 she looses it until you rock her to sleep and then she sleeps like a rock until 6-8 the next morning.  Since I've gone back to work she has decided that sleeping throught the night is not working for her.  She wakes up every 2-3 hours crying.  I can tell she is just sleepy and having problems falling back to sleep.

It dawned on me last night that since the hubby is home with her now during the days she is napping in her swing- hence she does not want to sleep anymore without movement.  No good!  I don't blame him for this, he did not know it would happen.  Needless to say there will be no more naps in the swing until this problem is fixed!

Goodbye Swing!

How do you know?

As a new mom it is really hard to decide when to call the doctor.  I tend to think "I'm just over reacting", "I'm sure its fine" so I always pick up the phone and call my momma!  I call her for almost everything- the hubby will testify to this.  She raised 5 healthy children so I think she knows a thing or two. Well poor baby Madison has little knots under her boobies so I took her into the doctor- Luckily to find out its all just a common hormonal reaction.  When in doubt- better safe than sorry!

The fun part about going into the doctor is we had a weight check and she is weighing in at 10 lbs 14 ounces!  She has moved into her 3-6 month jammies.  She is getting so big too quickly!

At 4 Weeks finally starting to wear 0-3
15 weeks 3-6 jammies for the 1st time

Father’s Day

Our weeks and weekends are filling up with so much to do, but my goal was to make the hubby's first Father’s Day pretty special-even if he had to help my aunt move for 6 hours of it- seriously the best guy ever.  The hubby is a wonderful daddy- he loves her so much, changes dirty diapers without even hesitating and works hard to provide us with everything we need.  He is an AMAZING dad and husband!  Punkin’ and I are both pretty lucky to have him in our lives.

I can’t mention father’s day without saying how much I love my daddy and how much he means to me.  I think the baby girl loves him a lot too!

A "Goodie"

Guess what I will be doing while baby girl sleeps this weekend??

Learning how to use Adobe Lightroom!  So excited, but so overwhelmed!

I don't think I will ever really understand all this program can do.

PS: A "goodie" is what the hubs and I call special splurges!

Baby Girl is 3 Months

So this post is a week late, but better late then never!

In the 3rd month of baby girl's life she is weighing in at 11 lbs, sleeping through the night, finding her voice with babbles, and loving bath time!

3 months went so fast! So scared that this first whole year will just fly by!

12 Weeks of Baby

I have been so blessed to spend 13 whole weeks at home with my baby girl.  I tried to take advantage of every day with her and soak it all up- reason for no blog posts.  Sadly, our lifestyle relies on a dual income at this point in time.  While the hubby is a fabulous football coach we aren’t quite pro yet.

Last Wednesday was my first (half) week back to work from maternity leave.  Returning to work was most definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life- harder than my c-section. Luckily baby girl is at home with the hubby for two months before 2 A Days start in August.  She might have to join him for a little film watching this summer, but that just makes for good daddy/baby bonding.

As a mom you feel obligated to be the one there for your child day in and day out and you want to do it.  I have all these crazy thoughts, like: “will she forget me?”,  “will she think I don’t love her anymore?” But I will say the second I get home, she gives me a big smile and we “talk” the whole night.  I know I’m the mommy and will always be the mommy, but it doesn’t make it much easier.

There are so many ladies out there in the blog world that have the great role of stay at home mom or work from home mom and not so many of the working mom.  Probably because its hard to sit down and write after a long day of work; we just want to soak up all the baby love while we are home.

Do you think this baby forgets me during the day?

I don't think so!
